Each year, DEWVA selects a charity to support, and our members are invited to make a donation during our two-day conference. This initiative reflects our collective commitment to social responsibility and the wider community, reinforcing the values of service, integrity, and support that underpin our work.
This year, our association chose ‘Young Lives vs Cancer’ as our charity for a deeply personal reason. Earlier in the year, one of our colleagues and a fellow drug expert, received the devastating news that their eleven-year-old daughter, had been diagnosed with leukaemia. What began as a simple rash quickly turned into a life-changing journey involving urgent hospital transfers and intensive chemotherapy.
Throughout this challenging time, Young Lives vs Cancer provided incredible support to the family, guiding them through the hospital and treatment process and offering vital assistance when they needed it most. Their work in helping families across the country navigate the realities of childhood cancer is nothing short of remarkable.
Thanks to the generosity of our members and supporters, we are proud to announce that we raised £631.37 for this amazing cause. Every penny will help ensure that families like this receive the care and support they deserve.
